To celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, our employee led Gender Peer Network explored the role that we all play in being allies for #GenderEquality.
In line with our commitment to provide a fair and equitable workplace culture where all genders have access to the same resources, opportunities and rewards, we strongly believe that everyone has a responsibility to be an ally for gender equality every day of the year, not just on March 8.
Most importantly, being an ally requires action.
Through an internal panel discussion with Gender Peer Network members Helen Strachan, Jo-Anna Partridge, Narelle Lane, Jean Macintyre and Robert Brown, our teams were reminded of everyday actions they can take to support women in and outside of work.
As a business, we also want to take action. In addition to being a Workplace Gender Equality Agency #EmployerofChoice and Family Friendly Workplaces certified, we’ve committed to fund two female community leaders through a Leaders Institute of South Australia course in 2023 and provide supportive mentorship. By investing in the future of emerging and established female leaders in our local communities, we hope to play our part in forging a gender equal world that is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
